Movie Rant: Forbidden Kingdom
- Initial scene where Jason is transported to ancient China, why the sudden understanding of English especially by Lu Yan even though initially, the language used is Chinese?
- There were a lot of references to other movies and some scenes, you will feel a bit of deja vu
- The premise is good but it fell short; there is something lacking in the movie
- Movie is enjoyable and fun to watch; had always been a fan of martial arts and kung fu movies, though this one will not really stick to one's memory for a long time
- Its generally a fun and light-hearted movie, never short on action scenes and quick-witted humor especially by Jackie Chan
Plot Summary. An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

Movie Rant: 10,000 BC
For those who don't like to think but only be entertained, this is an entertaining movie regardless of the convoluted mix-up of past events.
At least, its worth what I've paid for.
Plot Summary: A mammoth hunter is forced to lead a small group of hunters in pursuit of a band of demonic warriors who captured his love and the men of his tribe.
From the official website:
In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D’Leh (Steven Strait) has found his heart’s passion – the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D’Leh leads a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilizations beyond their own and that mankind’s reach is far greater than they ever knew. At each encounter the group is joined by other tribes who have been attacked by the slave raiders, turning D’Leh’s once-small band into an army.
Driven by destiny, the unlikely warriors must battle prehistoric predators while braving the harshest elements. At their heroic journey’s end, they uncover a lost civilization and learn their ultimate fate lies in an empire beyond imagination, where great pyramids reach into the skies.
Here they will take their stand against a tyrannical god who has brutally enslaved their own. And it is here that D’Leh finally comes to understand that he has been called to save not only Evolet but all of civilization.

Past Rants
Movies that I wrote about last year.
But this does not mean that they were the only ones I watched. There were a lot but due to some situations (became busier with my job, went back to school & fucked-up Internet connection), I wasn't able to write reviews. But, focusing on a blog about movies I watched, maybe, just maybe, I can be a regular blogger.
